This is a pretty frightening experience if you don't know what's going on.

I had forgotten how weird the downtown Chicago tornado siren was until I say someone comment on it online the other day.

I used to work downtown and vividly remember the first time I heard that siren. I was sure the city was under attack. Nope. It's just the regular siren.

I've been told that the reason for the eerie tone is that it bounces off and through the tall buildings easier and it doesn't sound anything like emergency vehicles that regularly go through the streets.

Should we bring this to Winnebago county or is it just too weird?
