Hononegah Grad Corey Anderson just got a huge win on Sunday.

Anderson was just added to the co-main event, UFC Fight Night 134 in Hamberg Germany, only 2 weeks ago. That didn't stop Anderson from defeating the third-ranked Light Weight fighter Glover Teixeria by unanimous decision.

He was added to the fight after the original opponent, Ilir Latifi, pulled out due to an injury.

After going 0-2 in 2017, this year is proving to be much better for the Rockton native.

With this current win, Anderson has now won back to back fights in the last three months. This puts him in a good spot for the remainder of 2018.

Anderson was a slight underdog in Sunday's fight but he wasn't surprised by the outcome. Saying in a post-fight press conference:

“I’m not surprised at all because that’s the exact plan: go out there and dominate,”  “Everybody talked about how great Glover was, but the plan was to go out there and show them how great I am.”

"The Ultimate Fighter 19" winner feels that his ranking in the Light-Weight division is pretty good after this past win:

“I think it puts me in the No. 3 spot,” Anderson said. “I took out the No. 3 guy, why wouldn’t I take his position? I think it puts me set up to fight No. 2...... “I don’t duck and dodge. I don’t pick fights. I just want to be the best.”

Hopefully, we'll be seeing pictures of this local kid with a UFC belt!
