For those that didn't know already, here in Rockford, we're in to several things. We love golf, and golf playdays. We love running (I don't, but whenever we have a 5K, 10K, or "fun run" of any sort, there's a huge turnout), we love street festivals (Stroll on State, anyone?), we can't get enough bowling, and we totally dig farmer's markets.

Okay, maybe you don't golf, run, bowl, stroll, or frequent (Fill in the Blank)-Fest. But, I'm willing to bet that you eat. And, if you're looking for fresh produce, baked treats, and other farm and kitchen fresh goodies, we've got you covered with no less than eight different farmer's markets.

In no particular order, the Rockford area is lucky to have:

Edgebrook Farmer's Market (Wednesdays and Thursdays through October)

GPS Faith Community Farmer's Market (Thursdays through late September)

HCC Realty Farmer's Market (Fridays through October)

North End City Market (Saturdays through October)

Pecatonica Farmer's Market (Wednesdays and Saturdays through October)

Rockford City Market (Fridays through September)

Rockton River Market (Wednesdays through August)

Winnebago Farmer's Market (Fridays through October)

Now, with all these farmer's markets going on all summer long, I better not hear anyone complaining that they didn't get enough zucchini to suit them.
