It appears, after a long, cold winter, Rockford was more than ready to start the spring/summer season by showing up in record numbers to the opening night of Rockford City Market last Friday.

Rockford City Market opened its 6th season on Friday, May 22 to a night of record-breaking attendance. Over 8,000 people came out to the market to grab a bite from the local vendors, shop for produce, browse through the various handcrafted goods, and simply gather with friends and family to enjoy the beautiful weather. This marks the highest attended opening night for Rockford City Market in all of its six years of operation. The new pavilion, adorned with the iconic Rockford City Market carrot on either end, was lined with new and returning vendors as the celebratory ribbon cutting took place at the beginning of the market.

If you missed out, don't worry, there's plenty more coming up tomorrow.
