A Rockford fixture for more than 40 years has received a prestigious award from the Illinois Office of Tourism.

Lino’s Restaurant has been presented with an “Enjoy Illinois: Delicious Destination” award. The designation is designed to honor local food establishments around the state that are beloved destinations for visitors and locals alike. Lino’s receives a certificate from the state and a window cling to inform diners of the state designation.

John Groh, the president/CEO of the Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, was on hand for the presentation:

“We couldn’t be more proud of our community partners at Lino’s for receiving a Delicious Destination award given by the Illinois Office of Tourism. This family-owned eatery is loved by our locals and a top recommendation to folks visiting the Rockford Region. We are fortunate to have them in our community and thrilled they are now named as a top culinary destination in Illinois.”

To be considered for an award, restaurants must be nominated by a Convention & Visitors Bureau, a community member, or an Enjoy Illinois social media fan. The nominee must be a one-of-a-kind restaurant that is authentic to Illinois and an established part of its community.
