If you've lived in Rockford long enough you've probably seen a list that has Rockford at or near the bottom. This is another one of those lists.

The fine folks over at Wallethub.com did an analysis of 505 cities across the country to find out which cities were recovering the best from the most recent recession. They took a look at each cities "Emplyoment & Earning Opportunities" and their "Economic Environment" broken down into 18 categories to make their list.

Despite a recent upward trend in Rockford's housing market the Forest City came in at 445 out of the 505 cities studies. If there is a silver lining to be found in all this is that we're not the lowest ranked city in the state. That honor belongs to the Naperville suburb of Bolingbrook which came in at number 488.

One of the good things about being at the bottom of lists is that there's only one way to go from here. For the complete listings you can check them out here.
