An interesting mix of winter weather could lead to flooding in the Stateline on Thursday and Friday.

Freezing rain, heavy rain, snow, and warmth all are on the agenda in the next 24-48 hours. With the ground still frozen and a large snow pack on the ground, flooding is a real possibility. Trying to get ahead of the storm, the Rockford Public Works Department is clearing storm drains today, starting with known problem streets and low-lying areas.

Officials ask those who have storm drains near their property to do what they can to of in clear those drains as well.
