If you live in Rockford's Rolling Green neighborhood, or have loved ones who are in that area, the Rockford Police Department wants you to be aware of a rash of residential burglaries nearby.

Officials say most of the incidents occurred in and around the Rolling Green area over the past 10 days. At least one Attempted Residential Burglary in and around Ridge Avenue north of Custer Avenue.  The neighborhood roughly encompasses the area near Rolling Green Elementary on the city's southeast side:

Rockford police say it appears the same suspects are involved in all of the crimes:

In each of the Residential Burglaries there are two white male suspects both in their late 20’s or early 30’s.  One of the white males approaches the homeowner and engages in conversation about wanting to do yard work or other household work the homeowner may need done.  It is obvious from prior incidents that the first suspect talking with the homeowner is distracting the homeowner to provide time for a second suspect to enter the home and steal items of value.  The second suspect is usually not with the first and the homeowner is unaware of the second suspect until they are seen together leaving the area.  The homeowner usually doesn’t realize they were victimized until hours later.  The incidents take minutes to occur.

No suspects are in custody, but officials continue to investigate the incidents. If you have any information you're urged to contact Rockford Police or Crimestoppers.
