Rockford Police Department Are Taking Applications For New Officers

Have you or someone you know ever thought about joining the police force? Now's the time to see if you have what it takes. The city says that candidates should have strong verbal communication, interpersonal and writing skills, and should possess common sense and problem solving ability. The starting salary is $52,811 and climbs to over $76,000 after 16 years of service.

The list of qualifications include:

• Between 21-34 years old by next January
• Valid driver's license
• Graduated high school or GED
• Live in Winnebago County
• Pass physical fitness test
• No felony convictions or certain misdemeanors
