There were goodbye tears and good luck cheers this morning as Christie Nicks said farewell to TV in the stateline.

After six years with Eyewitness News, WTVO and FOX 39, morning news anchor, Christie Nicks said goodbye to viewers.

Christie announced she was leaving the news for a job with the Rockford Police Department and said a huge reason for the change was spending more time with her husband and her two sons.

Through a few tears, Christie told My Stateline viewers she was leaving while her current and former co-workers sent her off in a sweet video.

I got to spend some time with Christie this winter during American Idol season and I can say she is nothing but the sweetest person ever and I wish her the best!
