If you didn't see The Big Lebowski in theaters when it was first released, you have a chance coming up at Showplace 16 in Rockford.

The movie, "The Big Lebowski," wasn't a big blockbuster hit. It didn't win any awards.

To me, it's something way better. "The Big Lebowski" is a cult classic.

My friends and I quote lines from the film all the time.

The characters are great, especially, "The Dude" played by Jeff Bridges. He's an idol to all the slackers out there.

Since it's wasn't a money making machine at the box office, it didn't spend much time at theaters. Many fans have only seen it on DVD or TV.

Now, here's your chance to check it out on the big screen.

According mentalfloss.com,

"To celebrate the box office bomb-turned-cult hit’s 20th anniversary, Fathom Events, Turner Classic Movies, and Universal Pictures are bringing "The Big Lebowski" back to theaters for two nights only in August."

That's great news. Plus, I won't have to drive far to enjoy it.

"The Big Lebowski" will be playing August 5th and 8th at Showplace 16 in Rockford. Showtimes are 2pm and 7pm.
