Rockford Man Dies Weeks After Being Hit By Car

ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) — A 71-year-old Rockford man who was struck by a car early last month has died.

The Winnebago County Coroner's office reports that Donald Williams died early Tuesday.

Williams was in a wheelchair on Oct. 6 when he was struck by a vehicle in Rockford. Williams was taken to an area hospital, where he was treated for extensive head injuries. Winnebago County Chief Deputy Coroner William Hintz says in a news release that Williams developed pneumonia that medical personnel believe was related to his injuries.

The Rockford Police Department is investigating the crash.
