Rockford Police have arrested a man suspected of robbing three banks in recent months.

Officers arrested Pedro Cordero, 52, of Rockford during a traffic stop on July 13.

Cordero was arrested in connection with the armed robberies of the BMO Harris Bank in the 2500 block of South Alpine Road on July 12, the Associated Bank in the 4400 block of Centre Terrace on June 2 and the U.S. Bank in the 1100 block of East State Street on May 8.

The incidents had been under investigation by the Rockford Police Department and the FBI.

Cordero was taken to the Winnebago Criminal Justice Center in lieu of bond.
