When you're driving a hot ride, you might as well "make a run for the border."

That's the story coming from MyStateline.com where a guy was arrested after he was spotted in a stolen car while sitting in a Taco Bell drive-thru lane.

According to MyStateline.com, "Officers noticed the vehicle that had been reported stolen last week from the 1800 block of 12th Avenue in the drive-thru lane at the Taco Bell on 11th Street. When they approached the vehicle, the driver drove up over a curb and fled out of the parking lot."

If you've ever been to Taco Bell, most of the drive-thru lanes are pretty tight, despite all that, the guy somehow managed to get away.

Police soon caught up with the man, a female passenger and the stolen car not too far from the Taco Bell location on 11th Street, while he was out for a walk. The walk abruptly ended and now he's currently sitting at the Winnebago County Jail.

And it all started because the guy took a stolen car to a Taco Bell drive-thru but hey, when Rockford's formerly #1 Mexican restaurant calls, you have to answer.
