Rockford Circa 1949 Looked A Little Different

Looking through Youtube, I stumbled across this old promotional (?) video of Rockford from 1949. 

I love the slogan in the video, At The Top In Illinois, and the very distinctive narration.

It's fun to see what still looks the same, the bridges, Sinnissippi gardens, and the Midway marquee. And what's very different, Main Street, there was a rodeo? Keep your eyes peeled and you might even see a grandparent.

Downtown Rockford is on it's way back but it has a while to capture the innocence portrayed in this video.
