Rockford Area Gas Is Up Quite A Bit From A Year Ago

Area gas has seen a slight decline recently but it's way up compared to a year ago. 

According to GasBuddy.com the cost of gas in Rockford is at $2.22 a gallon, that's down 2.7¢ from last week despite the national average going up half a cent across the country.

If $2.22 still seems high you might be remembering what gas cost last year at this time. Rockford's gas prices at the end of February 2016 were hovering around $1.62 a gallon, a whole 56¢ less than what they are at today.

Be sure to fill up soon as gas prices are expected to climb as we head into nicer weather and people start to put more miles on their vehicles.
