The Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce three major advancements that add to the growth and progress of the Forest City Beautiful initiative in the coming months. RACVB will host a news conference to announce the details for phase two of the project, the growing partnerships that will take it to the next level and ways the community can get involved. The Forest City Beautiful initiative is a collaborative effort that launched in 2014 with a long-term plan to assist in beautifying downtown Rockford. Announcements will include:
  • Rockford Sharefest to announce 2015 project
  • Community Foundation of Northern Illinois awards grant
  • Sponsorship recognition 
Forest City Beautiful is a multi-year initiative aimed at creating and maintaining beautiful landscapes in downtown Rockford.RACVB leads the effort in collaboration with Rockford Sharefest, the City of Rockford and other local donors who continue to make these efforts possible. As part of the initiative, RACVB has the responsibility to plan, install and maintain landscaping throughout downtown. "Forest City Beautiful is a solution that helps breathe life into the core of our city, while creating public spaces that are aesthetically pleasing and also environmentally friendly. This transformation process is a reflection of the incredible partnerships and strong community working together to continue beautifying Rockford's beloved downtown," said Tana Vettore, Director of Destination Development for the Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Presenters will include Rockford city officials along with representatives from the organizations participating in and/or contributing to the Forest City Beautiful project.
