Prince made two tour stops for concerts in Rockford during the 1980s.

The musician, who was found dead at his Paisley Park studio compound in Minnesota April 21, first performed in Rockford on March 5, 1982 according to an internet database of his concerts.

The show at the Rockford Metro Centre, now BMO Harris Bank Center, was part of the Controversy Tour. The Time also was featured on the bill.
