On July 2, 2017 downtown Byron will be hopping as one favorite pub and eatery celebrates its "last hurrah".

The Fifth Alarm Firehouse Pub announced Thursday on their Facebook page that they will be celebrating their 15th anniversary...and closing their doors for good on July 2.

I can't lie, I was a little shocked by that announcement. I come from a long line of firemen; a lot of our friends are firemen, and I know they love going to the Fifth Alarm when they are in Byron. I don't know the circumstances around their decision to close, but I do know this, it's bound to be one heck of a farewell party!

Here's the details if you want to go:

  • Where: Fifth Alarm Firehouse Pub at 120 N Union St. in Byron
  • When: Sunday, July 2, 2017
  • Time: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for food and bar; 5 p.m. to close for just bar.

In their Facebook post, the Fifth Alarm said;

We have been honored to serve the Byron community with a unique dining and culinary experience while honoring the heritage of our almost 100 year old building.

The Fifth Alarm invites customers to share their favorite memories and videos at the pub now on their social media pages so they can go out like a "5 Alarm Fire".
