Online voting is underway for the 2015 Illinois Tollway Map Cover Art Contest and you have the chance to help a Stateline area student artist win.

The public can go online and vote for their favorite entry now through October 31. The top 10 finalist entries in the student art contest can be viewed on the Tollway’s website and also are displayed at Illinois Tollway oases.

High school students in the 12 counties served by the Tollway were invited to submit original works of art created to remind motorists of the dangers of tired, reckless drivers on Illinois roadways. Among the finalists is Mariah McNamer of Pecatonica High School.

The top four vote-getters will move on to the next level of judging. The grand prize winner and three runners-up will be selected by a panel of judges that includes members of the Tollway Board of Directors and representatives from CBRE.

Artwork created by the grand prize winner will be featured on the cover of the Tollway’s 2015 map, which is distributed at no cost to more than 125,000 drivers. Three runners-up will be featured in the Tollway’s annual report. The grand prize winner also receives a $400 gift certificate from Blick Art Materials and $200 in gift certificates from U.S. Equities to use at oases retail shops and restaurants.

You can go to the Tollway's website right now to vote and support Mariah.
