On The Riley & Scot Show this morning, we got to spend some time with Jeanie Sullivan, a child life specialist at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center.

The topic? OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center's 13th Annual Children's Health and Safety Safari to be held this Saturday, September 20th, from 10am to 3pm, in the back parking lot area at OSF.

The event is absolutely free, and features booth after booth of health and safety information, all designed to be a fun and engaging opportunity to learn for both kids and their parents. Some of the highlights:

  • OSF Life Flight Helicopter
  • OSF Lifeline Ambulance
  • Dental health information
  • Pediatric surgery info
  • Police and Fire Department vehicles
  • Asthma education, nutritional information, poison prevention, burn prevention, injury prevention, early intervention information, and more.
  • Free glucose and cholesterol screenings for parents
  • Car seat checks from 11am to 2pm

There's lots more to see and do, but I only have a certain amount of space. For more info visit OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center's website, or call Jeanie Sullivan at (815) 227-2055.

It's a great time for your whole family, and if they're not extremely careful, your kids may learn some things too.
