Northern Illinois Food Bank is organizing a Hunger Action Month event coming to Rockford this week.

Individuals, families, business groups and social groups are set to join together Friday, Sept. 11 for a 12-hour Pack-A-Thon to benefit hungry neighbors in northern Illinois. This event will take place at Northern Illinois Food Bank’s Northwest Center in Rockford  765 Research Parkway in Rockford. The day will include a friendly competition between volunteer teams to label and pack the most canned food for neighbors in need and also will include raffles and other surprises.

Volunteer sessions on Friday are from 5:45 a.m. to 9 a.m., 9 a.m. to noon, noon to 3 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. You can register online at SolveHungerToday.org or call the Food Bank’s volunteer team at 630-443-6910.
