New iPhone App Connects Community to Loves Park Police

A new app from the Loves Park Police Department has debuted.

I just downloaded the new iPhone and iPad app called Loves Park Information Portal.

It seems quite easy to use and has nine features including a directory, a most wanted listing from Rockford Crime Stoppers and even an area to commend an officer for a job well done.

According to WTVO, this app will allow residents to connect to the Loves Park police more easily.

Right now, the app is only available for iPhone and iPad, but the department is working on an version for Android as well.

I think the app is a fantastic idea. Everyone is staring at their cellphones anyways, why not make it easier to get your messages and information across by developing an app.

My favorite features of the app since downloading are the directory and the crime map.

With the directory, it makes it extremely simple to find the non-emergency phone number as well as staff emails.

The crime map is awesome. Here, it shows exactly what type of crime happened, when it happened, and more all on an easy to read and research map. Yes, I may have spent way too much time on this feature, but it was extremely interesting to me.
