It's been 16 years since a Rockford Police Officer was killed in the line of duty and Rockford leaders and fellow residents are starting to come together in the fallen Officer's honor. Residents have already begun replacing their front outdoor lights to blue in memory of Rockford Police Officer Jaimie Cox, who was killed Sunday, November 5th while on duty.

Rockford's Morgan Street bridge was the first landmark to set their colors to blue in honor of Officer Jaimie Cox.

An official at Rockford's Public Works Department told me the lighting on the Morgan Street bridge will remain blue until Officer Cox is laid to rest.
