For his 10th Annual State of the City address, Rockford Mayor Larry Morrissey is shaking up the format and venue for the event.

The 2015 State of the City address will take place Thursday, March 5, starting at 6 p.m. Doors will open at 5 p.m at the new location for the event, the Nordloff Center at 118 North Main Street. Attendance is free and open to the public.

The Mayor is scheduled to present this year’s speech, entitled ”New Century Partnerships,” in a “Ted Talk” format. He'll focus on Rockford’s sustainability through the development of new partnerships and new markets and as well as finding a new city through the redevelopment of our downtown.

Officials say this address will be the first in a series of four in-depth speeches through the year. Future “Talks” are scheduled for June 4, September 3, and November 12. They're said take an in-depth focus on economic development, education and learning, and earning and living in Rockford.
