You've got to admire a guy who's cool and unflappable in a serious situation. A guy who can keep it together and do the right thing when life throws a big curveball. A guy like Texan Kerry Parker.

During the recent spate of thunderstorms that swept through Texas, Parker found his car, with him in it, being washed away by the terrible flooding near Austin. Kerry managed to capture video of his situation and forward it to his wife at home, before he scrambled out of his sinking car. He also found time to connect with local Austin TV station KVUE to give the news anchors a description of his new predicament.

He was rescued a few hours later and is doing fine. Thanks to 20 years of boy scout training.
