Illinois Congressman Adam Kinzinger joins us regularly on the show and one thing that is true about all his appearances: he's always willing to answer the big questions, even on topics that might be controversial or unpopular with portions of the Republican party.

This week we discussed the possible renewal of the Patriot Act in the U.S. Senate. Kinzinger told us he believes it would be very dangerous if the provisions in the legislation were allowed to expire. He also thinks there has been some misinformation about exactly what the Patriot Act entails:

We also talked about a vote last week on an amendment inside a defense bill that some say would allow DACA recipients to serve in the military. Kinzinger told us this amendement merely would have approved a study on whether that would be a good idea. He says the effort to remove that language from the bill comes from an "ugly place in our party":
