The new "budget," or more accurately, spending plan, passed in Springfield looks like more of the same old thing for Illinoisans.

Illinois passed a budget by the deadline this year. But, according to Adam Schuster, Director of Budget and Tax Research at Illinois Policy, it's a bad deal for taxpayers. It claims to be balanced through sloppy assumptions and was a 1,245 page document that neither lawmakers nor the pubic had time to read through before voting on.
