The Huntley Historical Society is raising money to open a museum showcasing the village's history.

The Northwest Herald reports:

The society’s president, Jim Blasky, said he and the society have been working to organize fundraisers and explore potential partnerships that would help the society move closer to the estimated $50,000 it would take to renovate the home enough to open it to the public.

The home was built in 1863 and stands on Main Street about a half-mile west of Route 47.

Blasky says the historical society has collections of memorabilia it would put on exhibit.

To help with the group’s fundraising efforts, residents can call Blasky at 847-669-9607.
