If you ever wanted to sit down with a Rockford policeman and discuss community issues over a cup of joe you can do that this Friday.

This Friday, October 7, officers from the Rockford Police Department and community members will come together in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink coffee. Coffee with a Cop will take place from 8:30-10AM at the following locations:

  • McDonald's, 3710 Auburn St.
  • McDonald's, 930 W. Riverside
  • Burger King, 2911 Auburn St.
  • Sister's Cafe, 2626 Kilburn Ave.
  • Katie's Cup, 502 7th St.
  • McDonald's, 1441 Kishwaukee St
  • Doughboys, 3330 11th St.
  • Meg's Daily Grind, 1141 N. Alpine Rd
  • Machine Shed, 7475 E. State St
  • Cracker Barrel, 730 N. Lyford Rd.

Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by The United States Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. Similar events are being held across the country as local police departments strive to make lasting connections with the communities they serve.
