You have heard the phrase, "There's no such thing as a free lunch." Well, here's a slight twist on the old axiom.

This Friday, July 25, Texas Roadhouse is hosting a fundraiser to benefit Special Olympics Illinois. Stop by between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and you'll be served a meal free of charge. Lunch includes a pulled pork sandwich, a made-from-scratch side dish, fresh-baked bread with honey-cinnamon butter and a non-alcoholic beverage.

However (and here's the twist), in exchange for the food diners are asked to leave a donation at their table. All of the proceeds will benefit all the athletes who take part in Special Olympics Illinois.

Last year’s events across the state of Illinois raised more than $63,000 for the organization. Our Rockford Texas Roadhouse location is at 7240 Walton Street, in front on the Walmart on East State.

So come on out Friday, enjoy the "free" lunch, and then give generously to help Special Olympics.
