There is no shortage of free outdoor concerts in Rockford this summer so grab your blanket and head on out. 

The Rockford Park District's Sounds of Summer is a free outdoor concert and performance series at three locations, and is designed to meet the diverse entertainment interests of the community by providing a variety of musical appearances.

The three locations in Rockford are:

  • Sinnissippi Park Music Shell - Music In The Park

These concerts are held every Tuesday and Thursday night at 7 P.M. through August 11. If it is raining the concert will be moved to Guilford High School. Prarie Street Brewing Company will sell beer and wine. Italian Ice will be available Tuesday nights and AnJan's Eats will sell concessions Thursdays.

  • Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens - Tunes On The Terrace

These concerts will be held every Wednesday on the Riverview Terrace and will feature jazz, easy listening, folk and more in the tranquil setting of the conservatory. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

  • Levings Park - Live At Levings

This concert and talent show will feature a variety of music spanning a wide variety of music spanning a wide range of styles. Held on select summer Sundays, the next one is the Father's Day Gospel Show with Carl Hanserd and Friends, the show begins at 6 P.M.
