Rockford police continue to investigate a quadruple homicide after four people were found dead on the city's northwest side.

According to a press release, at around 11:20 p.m. on Saturday officers responded to the 3200 block of Montrose Avenue after a report of gunshots. Officials say a neighbor heard pounding on a door, then the sound of a door being forced open, followed almost immediately by gunshots.

Four gunshot victims were located inside of a residence. All were pronounced dead by Rockford Fire Department paramedics.

The victims have now been identified as 24-year-old Martia Flint and her two sons, 6-year-old Tyrone Smith III and 4-year-old Tobias Smith. Also killed was 24-year-old Demontae Jones, who police identify as a friend of Rhodes.

Rockford police are treating this as a murder investigation and say there is no known motive at this time. Anyone with information concerning the incident is encouraged to contact the Rockford Police shift commander at (815) 987-5824 or Crime Stoppers at (815) 963-7867.
