Football Is Coming Back To Wrigley Field

It will be the first time in 10 years that the 104-year-old stadium will be used to play football. 

WGN - Widely reported last week, the Cubs and the Wildcats made it official on Tuesday with a news conference at the ballpark, announcing that Northwestern will play a football game against Wisconsin there on November 7, 2020.

The last time the Wildcats played a game at Wrigley was in 2010 when the hosted Illinois. As stated in the Tweet above, the most memorable part of that game was that there wasn't enough room for both endzones so both teams played the same way the entire game. That game didn't fare so well for Northwestern. They lost to the Illini 48-27.

Tickets haven't been released yet, but you'll want to keep your eye on that if you want to go. With the sheer number of Wisconsin fans in the area, this will be a hot ticket.

They should do more things at Wrigley Field. I know it's an old building but they've updated the facilities. The Bears used to play there regularly. The Blackhawks played there during the Winter Classic. Maybe they can set up some hardwood and the Bulls can play a preseason game there. The Cubs have had worse ideas.
