Former Illinois Treasurer Dan Rutherford is the subject of another lawsuit from those who used to work for him.

Three ex-employees in the treasurer’s office, Patrick Carlson, George Daglas, and Ashvin Lad, claim Rutherford fired them as retaliation for providing evidence against him during an internal probe into sexual harassment allegations.

The trio claims Rutherford used “timekeeping abuses” as an excuse for the firings. They’re seeking back pay and unspecified compensation for future wages.

Rutherford and his attorneys didn’t return calls for comment.

The investigation the three are referring to came from another ex-treasurer’s office employee, who claimed Rutherford repeatedly made unwanted sexual advances towards him. The lawsuit seemed to wreck Rutherford’s chances in the Republican primary for governor, as he ended up finishing in last place out of four candidates.
