On Wednesday there's a great opportunity to have lunch (or dinner) and at the same time help The Literacy Council in its efforts.

A feature of Jersey Mike’s Subs “Month of Giving” is its 5th annual “Day of Giving” initiative when 100 percent of the day’s sales at Jersey Mike’s locations nationwide will go to more than 120 different charities. All day on Wednesday, March 25, you are invited to enjoy a meal at either of the two local Jersey Mike's locations in Machesney Park and Rockford and all proceeds from sales will go to The Literacy Council.

The Literacy Council (TLC) is a local nonprofit serving adults working on improving their reading skills and English as a Second Language. Cindy Waddick, TLC Executive Director, is thrilled to be a part of the effort:

“The Literacy Council is honored to be chosen by Jersey Mike’s Subs for their annual Month of Giving. The Literacy Council’s adult education is playing a vital role in the transformation of our community...As we change lives for the better, we change the community for the better. The amazing generosity of Jersey Mike’s Subs is helping us make the difference in lives right here at home."

According to a press release, last year the "Day of Giving" resulted in $2.1 million raised nationwide for more than 100 local charities. Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s has raised more than $10 million for local charities and has distributed more than 1 million free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
