Meyer's Tails Up Farm on Irene Road in Belvidere is hosting a free community event called Dog Day Out.

Area residents are encouraged to bring their dog and enjoy a day of activities like agility courses, dock diving, canine aquatics, nosework and more.  My dogs absolutely hate swimming but I've seen dogs that you can't get out of the water.

Kent and Gwen Meyer are the owners of Meyer's Tails Up Farm in Belvidere, Meyer's Canine Colony in Roscoe, and Meyer's Animal House in DeForest, Wisconsin. For over 30 years the Meyer family has been known for providing luxury lodging, doggie daycare and obedience classes for dogs and cats in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.

"It's so important for people to remember that dogs need not just exercise, but mental stimulation. This event is designed, first to be a fun and free day out with your dogm but second to allow owners to learn new ways to keep their dog happy and healthy" says Gwen Meyer.

Dog Day Out is Sunday June 5th from 1-4 P.M. at Meyer's Tails Up Farm on 5390 Irene Road in Belvidere.
