I knew dogs could get sick but I didn't know there was an actual dog flu.

There has been a serious flu virus going through Illinois and especially in the Rockford area making many people sick. Of course, the internet is filled with tips on how to avoid catching it.

Now, Veterinarians are sending out warnings of the dog flu.

According to rockrivertimes.com,

“Canine influenza, or what we call the dog flu, is a really contagious viral infection that affects dogs, but also affects cats,” There are two strains of that in the United States.”

What are the symptoms to watch out for?

“Coughing, sneezing and a fever, pretty lethargic and not wanting to eat."

The article didn't mention what your dog's co-pay would be.
