Coroner: 62-year-old DeKalb Woman Dies in Crash
ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) — Winnebago County authorities say a 62-year-old DeKalb woman has died in a car crash with a semitrailer.
The Rockford Register Star reports the Winnebago County Coroner's Office says Debra Hopkins was pronounced dead Monday.
Illinois State Police says Hopkins was traveling northbound in an SUV when she was hit in an intersection by a semi traveling eastbound near South Mulford and Baxter Road. Police responded to the scene and are investigating.
Witnesses tell police the SUV stopped at the intersection before driving into the truck's path.
Police haven't filed charges.
