It was a busy weekend on the Illinois political front.

On Friday the Illinois Supreme Court declined to hear arguments in the case involving whether or not term limits would be on the November ballot. Also on Friday, Gov. Pat Quinn's former IDOT chief pointed the finger at the Governor and his staff for arranging the clout hirings at the Illinois Department of Transportation. And on Saturday we found out that a federal grand jury has subpoenaed the emails of the Governor's former chief of staff, Jack Lavin, as the investigation into the Neighborhood Recovery Initiative continues.

To put in all in perspective, we talked with Rockford native Kristen McQueary, who is part of the Chicago Tribune's editorial board. She gave us insight into all of the stories above and also weighed in on the current state of the race for Governor. Here's our full interview with Kristen:
