The Kiwanis Club of Rockford will present the 2nd Annual Budding Artists Fundraiser on Friday, May 15, 2015 at The Mauh-Nah-Tee-See Club, 5151 Guilford Road, Rockford, Illinois.  The event will be 6:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m.

Budding Artists provides an opportunity for selected art students from Rockford Public, Boylan Catholic, and Lutheran High Schools to showcase and earn money from their art at a gala evening event that includes an appetizer buffet dinner, live music by classical guitarist Ted Stavrou, and a live auction of the students’ artwork. Four students from each school have been chosen by the art teacher to enter one art piece into the auction.  Only 28 pieces of original art will be auctioned off live during this event. This is a great opportunity to buy distinctive and imaginative art.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the student artists (they receive 50% of the sale price for their piece), his/her school arts program ($250 per school), and the Kiwanis Club of Rockford, by providing funds to distribute to charitable causes that benefit children in our community. In addition, proceeds generated from this event provide five education grants ($500 each) that will be awarded to participating artists who apply and are approved by a committee.

Kiwanis Club of Rockford is pleased to bring this gala art event to the community and wish to recognize and thank our partners: Rockford Public Schools District 205, Auburn, East, Guilford, Jefferson, and Roosevelt High Schools, Boylan Catholic High School, Rockford Lutheran High School, and the art teachers and art students from each of the schools.
