Belvidere's Summerfield Zoo Opening for 2017 Season

Summerfield Zoo in Belvidere has some exciting new attractions for families to enjoy when they officially open for the 2017 season on April 22.

Summerfield Zoo is a treasured Stateline gem in my house. Any day of boredom for my animal loving three year old can quickly be fixed by a trip to Summerfield Zoo. It's affordable, it's fun, it's perfect for little ones, and it's close to home. What's not to love?!?

We recently had Rick from Summerfield Zoo into the Q98.5 studios and he was telling us about some exciting things coming to the zoo this year. One is an expanded petting zoo area, new animal encounters for your family to enjoy, and a new habitat for their beautiful Arctic Foxes.

If you've never been to Summerfield Zoo before, and you have young kids at home, take your bootay there this year! The zoo will be open on weekends only until May 17, then they will be open Wednesday through Sunday. Summerfield's regular hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For admission prices and more information on special tours and events at Summerfield Zoo, visit their website here.
