If you've ever received unemployment benefits there's a strong possibility that your personal information has been compromised.

Lifars - After the hack of an Illinois State Department's employment security agency vendor, the personal data of nearly 1.4 million job seekers in Illinois could be at risk, according to the governor's office.

...the hackers behind the breach may have accessed the names, birthdates and social security numbers of job seekers.

The information in the article is a little vague but the implication there is that if you've been at all associated with the Unemployment Department of the state your information could very possibly be out there for sale.

According to the article "the door has been shut" on the hackers but a lot of damage has been done.

In addition to Illinois being a victim  the article states that Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, Oklahoma, and Vermont may have also been affected.

Scary news for anyone who may have been vulnerable to this latest cyber attack. Keep an eye on your accounts and you may want to change a few important passwords. Good luck to all involved.
