As if league MVPs and a World Series title weren't enough, now the Cubs are dominating the broadcasting booth.

Any Cubs fan worth their salt knows how lucky we are to be blessed with one of the best voices in baseball, Pat Hughes. From keeping Ron Santo lucid towards the end of his life, to describing exactly what socks the players are wearing each day, Hughes doesn't waste a syllable when he speaks.

Now Mr. Hughes is getting some national recognition as the winner of this year's Ring Lardner Award for Excellence in Sports Journalism.

If you've spent any amount of time listening to some of the other broadcasters in town *cough* Hawk Harrelson *cough* you know how lucky you are to be a Cubs fan and have such a professional in the booth every game.

Congrats Pat and we can't wait to hear you winning World Series call next October.
