If you're planning a holiday trip this year, AAA says you'll have plenty of company on the roadways.

AAA projects 98.6 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home during the last few weeks of the year, an increase of four percent from 2013. Officials say the upward trend marks the highest forecast growth rate for the year-end holiday season since 2009 and the highest travel volume for the holiday period on record.

In Illinois, there will be five million travelers, a 4.3 percent increase from 2013, with 4.6 million traveling by auto (up 4.9 percent from 2013) and about 266,000 traveling by air (a .2 percent increase from 2013). Gas prices are the lowest they have been since October 2009, helping to boost disposable income. In Illinois the average cost of an unleaded gallon of gasoline is $2.58 and in Indiana the cost is $2.42.

There's one other result from the survey I feel the need to highlight: 91 percent of drivers consider impaired driving to be unacceptable. What I need to know is who are the other 9 percent who say impaired and drunk driving is A-OK? And what do I need to do to keep them away from me on the roadways?
