Madison Gibbons broke a 33-year-old record last week for the Belvidere Bucs when she

stuck out 17 batters in a 4-2 win over Sycamore.

Gibbons topped the previous record of 16 strikeouts, which was set by Lori Olson way back in 1983.

The records continued to fall this week. On Tuesday, Gibbons struck out eight in a win over Jefferson. That gave her 324 for her career, topping Jill Lacke's 323 that she struck out from 1990 through 1992.
