There are lots of different types of food that, understandably, are gross, disgusting, or just really unappealing for many people. However, after reading a list of the most hated foods by state, I'm convinced that we Illinoisans could and should pick another food to call our most hated, because the one we hate...is really too dull to hate that much.

Wait, what? I thought that if you were going to put together a piece about the most charming, beautiful, romantic, scenic, historic, welcoming, or interesting town in Illinois you had to write about Galena. Don't get me wrong, I love visiting Galena, but they're always being named number-one for something...but not in this category.

For as long as I can remember, it has simply been "The Museum of Science and Industry," but now that name is getting a change thanks to a significant donation from a guy who used to be the richest man in the state of Illinois.

What's going on with the atmosphere? Well, I'm reading all sorts of things about solar flares, solar eruptions, and something called a "solar maximum." Whatever the exact scientific explanation may be, the bottom line is that your chances to see the Aurora Borealis from Illinois still remain very good for the next few days...maybe longer.

We're a little over two months from the start of the Summer Olympic Games in Paris (opening ceremonies on July 26th), and eight Illinois athletes have already qualified for Olympic competition for either the July Summer Olympic games or the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games to be held in August.

The study is based on FBI crime statistics and crime data from their most recent crime data release in October of 2023. We'll look at the 10 Illinois cities to make the safest cities list, and breakdown the numbers for Illinois' top 20 safest cities overall.

After making the mistake of once telling my dad I was bored during summer vacation and having him find lots of chores for me to fix that, I've been careful about saying something is boring. However, travel websites that track these sorts of things have no problem at all telling you that Illinois has got some seriously dull places to visit...assuming you'd ever want to.
